Rotomation’s unique indexing actuators rotate in steps in one direction with no accumulating error. They are ideal for driving star wheels, indexing conveyors, carousels, and small index tables. Steps as small as 12 degrees and up to a full 360 degrees are available, and the actuators range in size from the X1 with a .375 inch diameter shaft up to the X4 with a 1 inch shaft. Rotate in steps in one direction like an indexing actuator, but without hard stops. Use with external indexing mechanism such as Geneva or shot pins, or where error is unimportant or does not accumulate. Unlike competing products, has robust shaft bearings and same envelope as standard rotary actuators without external projections.
Multi-Motion actuators produce combined rotary and linear motion on one rod. Any Rotomation rotary motion can be implemented. The rotary and linear motions are independent, controlled by separate directional control valves. Use for pick-and-place, push-and-turn, and other unique applications.
Any of our tie rod rotary actuators can be configured to have multiple stops; 3, 4, or 5 positions, selected using standard directional control valves. Choose any combination of angles and shaft keyway orientation. Even the miniature A032 can be configured as a three position actuator.
